Two teenagers have been arrested after a car was driven at speed towards pedestrians and horses down a lane to a beach.
Police were called to Beach Lane in Netley Abbey, near Southampton, on Saturday at about 15:00 BST after two men were reportedly seen sitting in a blue Skoda inhaling gas from balloons.
The force said one man left the car before it was then driven away from officers at speed towards the water, narrowly missing two people.
The driver then tried to get into the sea to flee officers with a passenger left in the car, Hampshire police said.
Police said as the car was driven down the lane numerous other pedestrians, along with several horses, also had to bolt out of the car's way.
The car was found to contain suspected Class A drugs, cannabis, scales and deal bags.
An 18-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply, dangerous driving, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, driving without insurance and driving without a seatbelt.
A 17-year-old boy from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.
The have both since been released on police bail.
